Open Access Policy

1. Introduction

Holistence Publications is committed to the Open Access (OA) philosophy, advocating for the free circulation of scientific knowledge to foster global academic advancement. We adhere to high ethical and professional publishing standards to ensure that scholarly, artistic, and cultural contributions reach a worldwide audience without economic or legal barriers.

2. Definition of Open Access

In accordance with the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI) and the Berlin Declaration, Holistence Publications defines Open Access as the immediate, free, and unrestricted online availability of scholarly literature. We ensure that readers can access, download, and share our OA publications without financial, membership, or registration requirements.

3. Publishing Model and Accessibility

Holistence Publications operates a diversified publishing model to support various academic needs. While we offer traditional commercial publications, our Open Access Monograph Program is strictly governed by OA principles:

  • Open Access Books & Chapters: Full texts are made available freely and permanently online immediately upon publication. These works are indexed in global repositories like DOAB.
  • Commercial Publications: Select works may be offered in print or digital formats for purchase, protected under standard copyright agreements, distinct from our OA collection.

4. Licensing and Copyright

All Open Access works are published under Creative Commons licenses to balance author rights and public access. The default license for our OA titles is:

CC BY-NC 4.0 (Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License)

  • Users may share, copy, and redistribute the material in any medium or format.
  • Appropriate credit must be given to the author and Holistence Publications.
  • The material may not be used for commercial purposes without prior authorization.

Copyright Retention: Authors retain the copyright and full intellectual property rights to their OA works, allowing them to deposit versions of their work in institutional or personal repositories.

5. Archiving and Long-Term Preservation

To guarantee the permanence of scholarly records, Holistence Publications utilizes a robust digital archiving strategy. All OA content is preserved through the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN) and LOCKSS infrastructures. Furthermore, metadata and full texts are permanently hosted in our secure, OJS/OMP-based institutional repository.

6. Publication Charges (BPC)

Holistence Publications may apply a Book Processing Charge (BPC) to sustain the quality of high-level production, international indexing, and DOI assignment. Importantly, these charges never influence editorial decisions or the rigorous double-blind peer-review process. Fees are calculated based on the scope and technical requirements of each project.

7. Ethical Publishing Principles

Holistence Publications aligns its operations with the core practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Every Open Access manuscript undergoes a meticulous peer-review process to ensure scientific integrity. We maintain full transparency regarding our review processes, providing authors and readers with a trustworthy scholarly environment.
