Alternatif Regresyon Metotları: Türkiye’de Büyükbaş Ve Küçükbaş Hayvancılık Verileri Üzerine Bazı Uygulamalar
Synopsis
This book presents a comprehensive statistical analysis of Turkey’s cattle and sheep numbers, along with their milk and meat production trends between 1995 and 2015, using simple linear regression and alternative regression techniques. It thoroughly discusses key assumptions of regression—normality, homoscedasticity, and autocorrelation—and demonstrates how violations of these assumptions can be addressed through methods such as Weighted Least Squares (WLS). Using real livestock data, the study shows that while heteroskedasticity is not a major issue, autocorrelation significantly affects model reliability; after applying necessary transformations, WLS models provide more accurate and robust results. With its detailed methodological explanations and practical applications, the book serves as a valuable reference for researchers in animal science, agricultural economics, and applied statistics.
