The work aims to reveal the changes and transformations in the economic, social, and legal lives of the Greek community living in Gökçeada from the Lausanne Treaty (1923) to the present day. The book discusses the theoretical framework of the minority concept, Turkey's minority policies, and specific historical applications toward the Greek minority (such as the Cyprus events, the Wealth Tax, and the 1964 expulsions) , supplementing this analysis with field research findings (interviews and socio-demographic analyses) on the impact of democratisation steps taken during the EU accession process on the Greeks of Gökçeada.
