Synopsis

This book serves as the second volume on hematology, delving deep into the oncological and therapeutic aspects of blood and lymphatic malignancies. The content begins with the genetic basis, clinical findings, and treatment protocols for acute and chronic forms of leukemias (AML, ALL, CML, CLL). Subsequently, it details the classification, staging systems (e.g., Ann Arbor), and chemotherapy/radiotherapy approaches for Hodgkin and Non-Hodgkin lymphomas affecting the lymphatic system. Additionally, plasma cell disorders such as Multiple Myeloma and their effects on bone structure are covered. A significant portion of the book is dedicated to transfusion medicine, explaining blood groups, component therapy, and transfusion reactions. Finally, bone marrow (stem cell) transplantation types (autologous and allogeneic), indications, and complications like Graft-versus-Host disease are discussed within the scope of curative treatments for hematologic disorders.
