Çağdaş İkonlar

Nüshet Göksun Yener's "Çağdaş İkonlar" series is the result of the artist's quest to re-evaluate recycled materials in an artistic context. Inspired by Byzantine icons and modern city plans, these collages offer a profound aesthetic that questions the concepts of "faith and death." Exhibited sometimes as individual works and at other times as holistic installations referencing Gestalt theory, these pieces have been presented to audiences through series such as Modern Icons, Iconostasis, Catharsis, and Labyrinths, spanning the artist's production period from 1993 to 2023.
