Synopsis

This catalogue belongs to the international online exhibition titled "Demassification," organized within the scope of the 3rd International Media and Society Symposium with the theme "Digital Culture" by İstinye University Faculty of Communication. The work artistically addresses how the digital transformation accelerated by the pandemic, along with metaverse, Web 3.0, and blockchain technologies, transforms communication forms and mass structures. Within the framework of the "Demassification" concept, the dissolution of the mass structure of media and the rising importance of individuals or local groups as creative and expressive actors in the digital space are emphasized. The catalogue features works by numerous national and international artists and designers (such as Adem Yücel, Hasip Pektaş, Martin R. Baeyens) focusing on the digital universe, digital identities, and new interaction methods. Bringing together original artworks that can be exhibited digitally regardless of technique, the exhibition documents the reflections of digital culture on visual arts.
