V. International Rating Academy Congress: Carrying the Philosophy of Village Institutes to the Future Abstracts Book (V. Uluslararası Rating Academy Kongresi: Köy Enstitüleri Felsefesini Geleceğe Taşımak Bildiri Özetleri Kitabı) compiles the academic outputs from the multidisciplinary congress held in Çanakkale on May 28-29, 2021. The work examines the philosophy, historical legacy, and potential contributions to the contemporary education system of the Village Institutes, one of the most unique educational projects of the Republic of Turkey. The abstracts in the booklet address the institutes' principles of "education in work, for work, and through work," and their role in social development, enlightenment, and teacher training. The studies cover a wide range, from the architectural structures of the institutes to their applied courses in music, art, and agriculture. Furthermore, the relationship of this model to contemporary educational paradigms such as 21st-century skills, STEM, ecological consciousness, and gender equality is also discussed.
