Synopsis

Authored by Mehmet Şahin, "Non-Governmental Organizations in Terms of Public Economics" is a comprehensive study that examines non-governmental organizations (NGOs), whose importance has increasingly grown with the changing state concept due to globalization, through the lens of public economics discipline. While theoretically analyzing NGOs' economic and social functions as the third sector, their roles in addressing market and government failures, and their contributions to the democratization process, the book also presents their historical development in Türkiye, their fiscal relationships with the state (such as tax exemptions and government aids), and the structural problems they face along with proposed solutions.
